Terry Zwigoff, who directed the wonderful film "Ghost World", next took charge of this disaster, based on a great
idea by the Coen brothers which never really came together on the screen. It's just totally undeveloped, in a story that
rapidly becomes monotonous and in dialogue which tries to substitute an avalanche of four-letter words for genuine humor and
wit. It's watchable because Billy Bob Thornton is such a terrific actor, even when he doesn't have much of a part to work
with, but the script really could have used another draft or two. It's sad, because you know the Coen brothers could have
made this a classic if they'd written and directed it themselves.
