This is a stunningly animated girl-empowerment fable by legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki. The story -- about a
deserted theme park that comes alive at night -- is much more coherent and affecting than that of Miyazaki's acclaimed "Princess
Mononoke", which I found kind of lame (though beautiful.) This film is filled with wildly inventive characters and images
of great plastic power -- a truly dreamlike masterpiece.
